  1. La Vencendora

Mexico is where the world first heard of Vanilla which was reserved for Aztec and Mayan Royalty for use in their chocolate drink (water+cocoa+ vanilla---original Abobriginee formula---Europeans added Milk). Vanilla comes from the Vanilla planifolia orchid. The bottle claims no preservatives or additives but the person who wrote this must not comprehend English because this is NOT true! Pure Vanilla extract is brewed from Vanilla Beans and Ethyl Alcohol ( 200 proof Vodka if you will). This product contains Corn Syrup which is not only an additivie but acts as a preservative. While I cannot prove it----I suspect that they are NOT brewing this extract as they claim. Instead they are adding chemically pure Vanillin which is the active ingredient in natural Vanilla and that is why it is so cheap and thus this is NOT natural Vanilla, as claimed on the bottle. I fail to understand that if what I suspect is true that the US Government's Food and Drug people as well as the folks who enforce the truth in Advertizing laws do not pay them a visit with the Federales and give them a warning or a fine. One of the costs of Vanilla Beans is getting the Vanilla Vines to bloom---they have to then be hand pollinated to make the bean unless the pollinating insect happens along and they will not produce flowers unless the vine is at last 30 feet long.

  3. I Love This Vanilla

I have tried many different gourmet vanillas, some costing 3 or 4 times as much as La Vencedora but none are as good! I keep it in the refrigerator; it maintains its flavor right to the bottom of the bottle.
